As a child, Parker nabbed the title role in the musical Annie on Broadway. Years later, she met stage and movie actor Matthew Broderick; they married and had a son, James Wilkie. She is most famed, however, for playing Carrie Bradshaw on HBO's Sex and the City, collecting a full shelf of Golden Globes and Emmys for her efforts as star and executive producer.

After pulling the plug on Sex at the height of its run in 2003, Parker returned to the big screen in The Family Stone opposite Rachel McAdams and Failure to Launch opposite Matthew McConaughey.
