When Teri Hatcher won a 2005 Golden Globe for her role as Susan Mayer in the runaway success Desperate Housewives, she thanked ABC for giving her a chance "when I couldn't have been a bigger has-been." That refreshing self-awareness made her a hit (again) with Hollywood.

Hatcher's career began when she accompanied a friend to an audition to lend moral support – and won the part of a singing, dancing mermaid on Love Boat in 1985. But it was her turn as sexy, spirited Lois Lane in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman that made her a small screen star.

Since returning to the public eye, Hatcher has published a memoir (Burnt Toast) and is frequently photographed with her daughter Emerson, whose father is Hatcher's former husband Jon Tenney.
